With more and more city and noise pollution, one must escape to nature specially during the summer heat. Even though some of my favorite activities in Lebanon are camping and hiking and even after 15 years of being a girl scout, I only discovered new spots through
Nicolas' Instagram account. Luckily, Nicolas was kind enough to share this list of 10 his favorite hiking trails in Lebanon. Enjoy!
#10 Baskinta (Darb El Adab)
Great trail during the spring as the trees make you feel like you're in Japan. This trail is dedicated to Mikhael Nhaimeh, one of Lebanon's best writers.

#9 Arz El Shouf
The trail might be a bit of a dirt road yet this is the largest Cedar reserve in Lebanon. Hiking between hundreds of Cedar trees should be on every person's bucket list.

#8 Tannourine
What makes Tannourine very special is the abundance of agriculture and plantations. But most importantly, it has the famous Baatara gorge waterfall (also known as Balou3 Balaa), which is a triple waterfall formed by water carving its way into the rocks.

#7 Ouyoun El Samak
This place is still not very known but it's surely a Lebanon gem. The lake lays between two hills where it separates the Akkar district from the Miniyeh-Danniyeh district.

#6 Mazraat El Teffeh
One of the most underrated places in Lebanon as the trail is full of rivers and bridges, where you can also spot a waterfall making its way from a forest uphill.

#5 Mokhtara
During Spring, this is one of the most challenging trails as it's slippery and passes alongside a river, but this is where all the fun is!

#4 Chouwen
Chouwen is as magical as people say. Even though the hike is short (only 45 minutes), but it's super rewarding as you will be graced with a beautiful view from the top of the lake where you can later take a dip in!

#3 Aamiq Wetlands
Aamiq wetlands are in the middle of the Bekaa Valley. Yes, you heard that right! This trail is full of watery lands and bushes so the best time to go on this hike is in early spring where the water level is still high.

#2 Annoubine Valley
Many people have visited Annoubine Valley but not so many have done a hike in it. This valley is heaven on earth as the trail never gets boring. You have tens of waterfalls along the way, with the best part being the many entries and spots you can take in that valley.

#1 Ammou3a / Ozer forest
Ask any professional hiker what the most beautiful trail in Lebanon is and most will say "Ammou3a". It's a great place full of different types of trees. And once you reach its Ozer (oak) forest, you will be astonished by how tall and majestic these trees are.
