5 years and still here

This blog made it to become 5 years old on 28 July, but it went by unnoticed. Crazy yeah? I guess I have become a mature blogger.

It all started as a result of July war 2006. Went through different name changes (Israel War on Lebanon, My Lebanon is being burned to ashes, Independence05 and now Funky Beirut). It was a pretty political blog with some social aspect, now it solely focuses on social / cultural and what not.

I admit that several times I find it hard to come up with an out of the box post especially when you have a busy life going on and many other projects on the side like Ontornet and The Cube LB and Lebanon Aggregator. Yet what I love about this blog mostly is the reactions I get from the readers. The purpose of this blog is not venting and that's that, it's about sharing, learning from and interacting with you guys.

So thank YOU, yes! You and you and you. And I hope I will keep having things to share that are interesting for you and offer something different for your taste. A different perspective, an out of the comfort zone post, a daring opinion...  Inshallah we make it to the 6th year.

  1. Congratulations on your 5th anniversary! I've been reading your blogs ever since I bookmarked your site early this year. I'm a filipino who used to work in Beirut for more than 10 years, so reading your blogs really brought back good and bad 'ol memories. Keep it up and more power! God Bless!
