Ladies & Gentlemen, I am so honored and happy to announce to you that Lebanon has reached the TOP position (from the bottom) among all countries when it comes to Download Speed.
Let us put our hands together and unite in order to become the TOP position (from the bottom) in the Upload Speed as well, we are only one position away, only 0.01Mbps away! WE CAN DO IT!

p.s. If you're not pissed off yet, read this: Hong Kong gets 1 Gbps internet for 26$/month (thanks Bilal for this link)
p.s.s. Do you realize how many companies work on an international level using the internet on a minutely basis? Can it be more obvious how this slows down our economy?

What the f*** is Vanuatu?!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say, but that's hilarious. The same here in jordan with limited download which is for example 12GB for 3mbps connections.
ReplyDeleteMore than bad.
Tried to comment, but I guess OMG says it all...:-)
ReplyDeleteI made a serious call last week to a telecom company and they said that in Lebanon we talk with Bits while the rest of the world have actual Bytes! How sh*** is that!
ReplyDeleteYala gd luck Lebanon :D
Mohammad, at least you got 3G!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a sad state of affairs. And look at what the politicians are bickering about! TFEH. I am tired of all the selfishness and bigotry. Sometimes I question why I returned to Beirut. I am glad my new-found friends are a major anchor but WTF I miss normal internet :'(
ReplyDeleteMabrouk Lebanon!
ReplyDeleteI cant even comment...jorsa.
ReplyDeleteOh, guys, since we're on this subject, Hong Kong gets 1Gbps broadband service for $26 a month:

It's as(s) good as our other national holidays right?
This is sad!
ReplyDeleteShant, maybe couple of days ago. I took the snapshots today.
ReplyDeleteYES, IT IS VERY SAD :S
belon y7eriro #Egypt and #Tunisia nd seems nobody is interested to liberate our country from these shits! Shame on the ppl 1st.
ReplyDeleteThx
anonymous its not about liberating!!! couple of people zato el feteyshe in the middle east! they want the leaders of the middeast all to be freemason, and lebanon has a freemason leader already
ReplyDeleteand they wonder why Lebanon is no longer the hub in the Middle east, and why international firms are no longer headquartered here.... Security? That's only the icing on the cake... Try infrastructure! *too sad*
ReplyDeletevery true youmna, you know Lebanon was supposed to be the country that has Media City, Internet City etc... and dubai has it? that was a project ages a decade or so. we suck.
ReplyDeleteLil, i've watched an interview sometime ago with sheikh mohammed (uae) and he was asked about all the "cities" he's been building in Dubai and specifically about how it was all a Lebanese project before Dubai even existed. His answer was "yeah Lebanese are very good at talking but we know how to execute".
ReplyDeleteMar1, 100% :) I, for one, am determined to change that formula. think tank is on.
ReplyDeleteForget politicians... They will NEVER do anything for us.. it's on our hands to fix our problems-- let's get to it Lebanese! I think we can do it.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing, I think, we can do is take our activism with regards to Lebanon to the streets. Blogging about our problems is great but on the street it'll be more effective especially since we are the SLOWEST officially :)
Mariam, I am taking your advice ;)
