Awesome NEWS for Lebanon

South Korea's Internet connection speeds, already the fastest in the world, are about to get a whole lot faster, the New York Times reports.
"By the end of 2012," writes the Times, "South Korea intends to connect every home in the country to the Internet at one gigabit per second. [1]
haha... I laugh and I laugh and I laugh... I pity South Korea. Don't you??

Connection speed in Lebanon - taken on Monday 21/2/2011
Oh you haven't see the good news yet? Check this out: "By the end of 2012,"

At least The Simpsons will still be on post 21/12/2012
Yep, didn't you know that the world is ending on 21/12/2012? So basically, South Korea will never see the light to that 1Gbps connection. But we, Lebanese, on the other hand, will live to see them not living to see this connection because we are like Chuck Norris. The end of the world will not affect us, because we are cool, and strong, united and have the best hoummous in the world! So rejoice Lebanese people, because they may win this battle, but we will win the war!

p.s. I would like to thank especially Bilal Houri and Tarek El-Khatib for always thinking of me when they are downloading something on a high speed. Thanks for making me miserable. Every.. day..

p.s.s. 21/12 is my birthday! It's gonna be a "blast"

P.S.S. Who's up for a MARCH where we will race to the parliament, versus uploading a youtube video :)

  1. when u say a "blast" , euuuhhhh, is Literal or metaphorical ? :/ come on ! What have you heard ? :P

  2. LoL!!! Loving the sarcasm and the unique point of view... ;-)

  3. Forgot to mention an important part:
"Each customer pays about 30,000 won a month, or less than $27."

A 2.3 mbps connection in Lebanon costs north of $200.

  4. i'm deffo for the march! the question though is how many round-trips we'll have to do... :p

  5. I have done your pss, but with a memory stick race on a donkey. From jbeil to jouniyeh vs uploading 4Gb file.

    Guess who won.
