Donno which major to choose? Contact me

Ok so I have had this project (more like a dream) in my mind for at least 8* years, I had prepared a document explaining it and all. I didn't want to say anything about it, until I registered it as an NGO, and put up a website and the whole thing.

But you know what? No more perfectionism, the goal of this project is to help young high school graduates decide what their major (or career) is going to be. So no more wasting time.

The project is called "Lebanese Community of Knowledge" aka LCK. The purpose is one thing, to have as many Lebanese people work in something they love, because when you love what you do, you will do it better. (Utopia? I know :) but we can try)

LCK has actually a structure and way of sharing knowledge (workshops, trainings), but for now, I will just execute an easy step and put out there the following:
If you're in your last 2 years of high school, and still don't know what you want to major in, please contact me, I will talk to you see what direction you're leaning towards and put you through with someone who has already majored in it so they can tell you about it.

Anyone who would like to offer their help, you could have majored in something or simply master any kind of skill, please contact me and let me know what you can offer.

Contact me on contact[at]independence05[dot]com.

p.s. Can anyone offer help on logo and web design? I can offer back mentioning your name :)
- Also, disclaimer: I don't know everything, I will just be putting you through to others and listening to you :) *over coffee*
- I will try to make a special page for LCK so everyone can refer to it for more info

  2. great stuff, i'm returning to my school back in the uk next month to be part of a series of talks by old alumni to help students choose what to do in university choices to make and career paths. obviously i'll be talking about social media, but also, that in this day and age, it might be that you can't pick one profession for life, so you have to learn how to be flexible.
happy to assist by demonstrating how the set up works at my school, and perhaps we can look to doing monthly talks at unis once you have various people on board.
Ayman Itani should have some good ideas on how to co ordinate this

  5. it has been also a dream of mine!! well not since 8 year.. :p
read this: "Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar." this was on one of my friend's facebook profile.
and this is what makes me sad. people spend more then half of their day working. the least thing they could do to themselves is to be happy with their work. plus, i believe that every single person is passionate about a very specific thing (even if hey don't know it.. or don't accept it.. even our moms and tetas). every person should make his passion his career!
this is when caring about what we do comes. this is where we start braking barrier... (utopia.. again.. ;) )

i am extremely happy someone is taking an initiative about this issue :D
    and i want to help.
i am part of team .:therefordesign... and we might be able to help with the logo & website you were talking about. read this to have an idea of how we might help: http://therefordesign.net/blog/news/internship-program-culture-of-spirituality/

  7. + people don't have to go to university, it's not a must anymore. society brainwashes us to choose a major like zombies. it's has to be a "Choice" not a "Given"

people should be able to choose what their passion is, and if it involves university, then be it :-)
