August 4, 2006 Round up

Early this morning Israeli warplanes bombed three bridges north of Beirut, in "Christians" areas of Lebanon. Five people were dead including a Lebanese army soldier, and another 40 civilians wounded.

Hezbollah reported its forces destroyed an Israeli tank and a bulldozer in Markaba town, and destroyed another one in Aita Al-Saab.

Al Arabiyya TV Station reported Hezbollah killed five Israeli soldiers during the combat today. An Israeli spokesman confirmed there have been some causalities.

Around 250,000 of Iraqi Shia showed support for Hezbollah in a rally in Baghdad today.

Saad Al Hariri in a meeting today with Russian national security Chief Igor Ivanov called on Russia to use its influence on Israel to accept an immediate cease-fire.

Kula Lumpur is finalizing plans to dispatch 1000 troops for peacekeeping efforts in Lebanon once a cease fire is in place.

Reuters reported that tomorrow August 5, US assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Welch will visit Lebanon in an effort to end the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict.

  1. Well I watched that video, and they're saying that maybe Israel's purpose by bombing these bridges is to close the roads on the weapons supply, well that's funny. What I don't understand is that there is another road, there are always others roads, what is Israel doing, this is silly !!!! They're just doing this to hurt Lebanon, they keep hiding behind their lame excuse of cutting the weapons supply.
    When will all this crap be over, they're not leaving anything from the Lebanese infrustructure! What bridge is next?
